The Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of India has issued advertisement number 02/2026 for the recruitment of 250 Deputy Field Officers (Technical). This recruitment notice was published in the October 17–23, 2026, issue of Employment News. Cabinet Secretariat Education Qualification :-

• Cabinet Secretariat DFO Qualification:
  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (BE/B.Tech) or a Master’s degree in Science in a relevant field from a recognized university/institution. Additionally, a valid GATE 2024, 2025, or 2026 score card in the relevant subject is mandatory. The GATE paper must correspond to the specific subject for which the application is being submitted.
• Cabinet Secretariat DFO Technical Qualification:
  • The educational qualification (EQ) for the Cabinet Secretariat DFO technical post is a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or a Master’s degree in Science, in one of the subjects specified in the vacancy table. The degree must be obtained from a recognized university or institution. Furthermore, the candidate’s GATE paper, as reflected in their valid GATE score card, must match the subject for which they have applied.

Cabinet Secretariat Salary :-

• It is in Level-7 of the pay matrix (Group ‘B’, non-gazetted). Upon posting in New Delhi, the initial monthly emoluments (including all allowances) will be approximately ₹1,00,000.
